Fed up

I'm just a bit too fed up today.That kind of days come frequently.Almost once a week.
Did you ever felt uncomfortable with your colleagues at anytime?Felt like you can't work in the same air they breath? *aarrghhh!!

In Agony

He could have been having testicular torsion.An acute urological emergency.I wish i had insisted the ER surgical resident on seeing him instead of letting the patient be discharged as the resident advised me.Night duties are tough on everyone.But residents have a resposibility and they can't go up to their room and manage patients via the phone through their interns!!!It is unacceptable.Why did the resident let him go....why didnt i ask the internal medicine resident to see the patient eventhough they wont see a surgical case!!??*weeps !!

Interrogation

Present day:today
Location: A small cluttered office occupied by some oversized lawyers each one yelling trying to be heard over the other.
Interrogated by:Unknown lawyer.
Guilty party: Intern with a black stethoscope hanging around her neck.

The lawyer smiles and takes some papers and starts to write.The intern tries to take a peek at what he's writing just so she could get an idea why she was called to the legal affirs department of the TwoMileAway University Hospital.It was an unsuccessful attempt and she gives up and tries to appear calm and cool and very doctor like among the tightly packed lawyers present there who bythe way, were going through munches of their morning sandwiches while yelling.Her mind tries to back track the past few months and tries to think of what could she have done wrong to be brought to this place.Did she kill a patient?? Nooo!! Broke anything? Of course not!!Did she umm share jokes with other interns about the hat the director wears? Ok,she did but who could have heard that??
As her mind was reeling with thoughts, the lawyer interrupts her and asks:Why did you leave on 27/7 without signing out??
The interns looks at the date written on the legal document very surprised and relieved that it wasn't about the director's hat and thinks back..What??27th?are u joking?That's almost a month back,and you expect me to remember??Ok, let me think.
The intern remembers and flashes a smile at the lawyer and says:Oh,yeah..i remember. i removed a tooth and was in so much pain.i had to leave early.I was granted permission by the resident who was in charge of me.
She was sure her excuse is legitimate because her dental braces are very visible.So, any person with a lawyer IQ level will know that teeth might be extracted for orthodontic reasons.
The lawyer happily writes it down.Dont they have any important legal affairs to deal with than asking about a tooth extracted,wonders the intern.
Ok!that will be all says the lawyers.The intern feels relieved and is surprised that she got to escape the place without getting a death scentence or jail for life scentence.
